Description: This position is with a larger manufacturing company where you can make a difference and still enjoy a great work/life balance!! The Product Development Engineer will be responsible for leading the design and development of new consumer products. Duties include:
• Responsibility over the design, quality, investment, and cost of the new product;
• Designing components and assemblies to include concept development, design validation, print release, tooling review, manufacturing evaluation and product launch;
• Specifying materials for design optimization;
• Leading root cause analysis and resolution to design and process related issues;
• Effective communication and multi-tasking management with proper follow-up during resource imbalances.
Experience: • 3+ years of related engineering and project management experience;
• Knowledge and experience with mechanical structure design, manufacturing processes and quality system tools;
• Proficient with new product development tools: design concept generation, design reviews, prototype building and evaluation, DFMEA, DOE, tolerance analysis, process capability, design verification, milestone schedule management, line trial activities;
• Applied knowledge of DFMA principals;
• Highly motivated, innovative and resourceful problem solver;
• Computer literate in MS Office applications, Lotus Notes, CATIA v5 preferred;
• Experience with polyurethane foam assemblies, design ofr Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH), and large scale plastic injection and thermoform molding highly desired;
• Ability to travel 15% to 25% annually.

Salary: $60-85K, DOE
Education: 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
