          Title: (On-site) In-Patient Coding Specialist - Health Information Management (HIM) - Full Time - Days
          Location: SC-Lancaster (Charlotte, NC region)
          Primary responsibility of the In-Patient Coding Specialist is to provide coding of diagnoses and procedures on all inpatient charts. In- Patient Coders review patient records and assign accurate codes for each diagnosis and procedures using ICD-9-CM codes, (3M coding software), as well as appropriate coding references. This individual will be required to make independent decisions regarding accurate ICD-9-CM and procedure code assignments. Reports to Coding Supervisor.
          Education:
          * High school diploma or GED
          Experience:

          * Two years ICD-9-CM coding experience in an acute care hospital environment required.
          Licenses/ Certificates:

          * RHIT, CCS , RHIA credentials preferred.

          Primary Locaiton: SC-Lancaster (Charlotte, NC region)
