          Metrology Technician

          Summary
          In this role, you will support the Metrology Engineer in the metrology system for the Sumter plant in order to meet internal requirements as well as the requirements of quality system standards (ISO/TS16949, QSB, etc.).
          Audit findings against Sumter metrology system and the on time handling of these findings (Internal, PPS, QMS certification, OE). Management of the Quality Management budget in the metrology section

          Principal Responsibilities

          · Support all measuring, inspection and testing equipment (to be calibrated or process aid)
          · Allocate identification numbers and label accordingly
          · Manage the calibration of the subject equipment where internal master calibration equipment can be used
          · Work with external providers regarding the calibration of the complex equipment
          · Re-call equipment for periodic calibration
          · Conduct Analysis Studies according to the required frequency
          · Maintain the physical condition of master equipment and the metrology laboratory to a high standard.
          · Enter all the relevant information regarding calibrated equipment into the relevant SAP database
          · Maintain the data base
          · Utilize the system to identify equipment for periodic calibration
          · Obtain the necessary certificates from external suppliers and maintain the filing system
          · Participate in audits (first, second and third party audits) as auditee for the metrology system
          · Participate as internal auditor for internal audits

          Skills and Requirements
          · High School Diploma/GED Associates is preferred
          · 3+ years in manufacturing (preferably in the automotive industry) or in quality management and1 year in a metrology laboratory
          · Strong MS Office Skills
          · Good Written and Verbal Communication skills
